I am extremely pleased to announce that former Journey frontman and MelodicRock favourite Jeff Scott Soto will perform a special 1 hour solo set (with full band!) prior to the show headliner at Melodic Rock Fest, South Bend Indiana October 6.
Further details will be announced shortly - but for those wondering what will be included into this special 60 minute set - EVERYTHING! If you recall the now legendary Live A The Gods set in 2002 was an amazing 55 minutes in length, so get ready to hold onto your hats for a blistering 'best of' set! The Bay Area rock legends, Y&T, performed two special sold out shows at the Little Fox in Redwood City, CA, same venue JSS will be performing in Sept, as a special Fan Appreciation weekend just for the longtime fans of the band on Aug 3rd & 4th.
There were many nostalgic raffles & surprises for the 2 nights including a a raffle for a lucky audience member both nights to be brought up on stage to sing a Y&T song of their choice with their heroes. To the audiences surprise on the Sat night show, a 2nd raffle ticket was called & none other than our own JSS called out from the audience he had the lucky ticket with no one realizing it was him until he hit the stage....the audience let out a roar of surprise (yes folks, it was pre-planned via invitiation from the band days earlier) & they proceeded to play Open Fire, Don't Stop Running, & Mean Streak.
Other surprises onstage were Whitesnake keyboardist Timothy Drury for 1 song with the band as well as original guitarist & Y&T member Joey Alves.
It was a dream for Jeff to sing with this special band as he has been a long time fan since the early 80's. Dave Meniketti, singer of Y&T, will return the favor & join JSS & band for some jamming & songs when they appear at the Little Fox on Tue, Sept 25th.

Jeff has just returned from Florida after spending a few days with the Trans Siberian Orchestra creator & producer Paul O'Neill. It seems Jeff will be a feature voice on the upcoming, long awaited TSO album/production. Jeff is NOT part of the upcoming tour though, just the album. This is exciting news as those who know of TSO have witnessed a spectacular like no other production in the world.
For those who have little info on it, TSO are a world reknown symphonic, classical rock band comprised of over 60 members including full orchestra, 4 guitar players, 18 singers, etc., who have recorded & performed original & classical compositions since 1996. Jon Anderson (Yes), Geoff Tate (Queensryche), Michael Crawford (Phantom Of The Opera), Jewel & many other known artists are linked to this extravaganza & Jeff couldn't be more proud to now be part of the family.

Jeff was in the studio this week with Don Dokken layering backing vocals for the upcoming album. Don wanted a richer texture to the backgrounds on these new songs so brought Jeff in to sing on 6 songs. Jeff says 'The album really hits back home with the classic Dokken sound, if you've been waiting for them to return to 'Tooth And Nail' or 'Under Lock And Key', you're really gonna be pleased with this one!!'. No release date is set as the album is still in production.
Another amazing night at Uli Roth's Sky Academy this past Fri & Sat night, Jeff joined Uli & his band for the classic Scorpions tracks In Trance & Pictured Life. The crowd received Jeff very well as most remembered how they tore the house down last year together, this year was no exception! "Those were always 2 of my favorite old Scorps songs, to sing them again with the legendary originator, Uli Roth, is always inspiring!", said Jeff. No doubt there will be youtube vids available soon from both nights.
