JSS ENDORSES TALISMAN RE-ISSUES!
Another bit of important news I forgot to drop the other day… there's been a lot of mumbling around about Talisman re-issue/re-releases…I wanted to let you all know the band & I FULLY endorse and are very much a part of these new master releases!
When Marcel left us, he made sure his/our old friend Christer Wedin, who was the owner of our label (Empire Records) on our 1st 5 albums, was left the executor to the band's catalog so Christer ceased all licensing and copyrights, bought them all back and is now in the process of getting them out again, in a proper manner, remastered and with bonus material that will certainly be worth adding. Marcel had done this already with shoddy sounding demos and such but we want to put quality bits that you would all enjoy!
The 1st 4 releases (S/T, Genesis, Five Out Of Five, Humanimal) are about to hit if they already haven't but I just wanted to let you know these are not just re-releases from some grubby hands trying to make a quick buck, these releases are for you serious collectors as well as those who will be discovering the band for the 1st time and don't want to spend a fortune on the older, hard to find originals. These will update the quality of our masters with the technology of today's standards. Hope you guys like them, it's a celebration and tribute to our fallen brother as well as a proud moment to share our legacy once again!

JSS BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS AND UPDATES!
AN UPDATE FROM JEFF…
I would like to 1st of all announce and finally answer the burning question I've been bombarded with the past weeks...yes, I will be returning for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Winter Tour this year! It is exciting to be a part of the next chapter of this monster as we embark on a new show based on the story and music behind The Lost Christmas Eve album. The US tour begins Nov 15 and goes through Dec 30 so see you all out there for that!
Next, we should have a release date soon for the new W.E.T album, I'm stoked for people to hear it and I really hope its embraced as the 1st one was so we can plan to take it on the road sometime in 2013.
Speaking of the road, I can proudly announce the Damage Control tour that begins next month in Brazil will finally be planned and booked throughout Europe beginning early April 2013. A lot of questions on where in Europe we'll play and the answer is yes, I will finally be doing shows in the UK again! We'll see our way through the core of where I have been adding new territories as well so Spain, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Bulgaria, etc., get ready to rock...and I mean 'ROCK'!
Lastly, the buzz for Damage Control has been so great I plan to start writing and recording the follow up album by mid 2013 to hopefully see a late 2013 release and yes, this one will be chockful of everything you'd expect in a rockin' JSS album.
Hope this keeps you all satisfied for a bit, all the juicy details of these tidbits will be revealed as they get closer to fruition, Rock On!

Official Queen Tribute Show Produced by Roger Taylor Hits the U.S. on May 31 in Detroit.
The Queen Extravaganza, a spectacular touring concert show designed to celebrate the glorious music and live experience of legendary rockers Queen, kicked off this past weekend with electrifying performances that dazzled Canadian audiences. The accolades are sure to continue when the Queen Extravaganza makes their live U.S. concert debut on Thursday, May 31 at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. During the tour opener at the Grand Theatre Du Quebec on May 26, as well as concerts in Montreal and Toronto, the band was met with rave reviews by fans and critics alike. La Presse remarked that there were “ovations at almost every song...the tour could have a long life," while Journal De Quebec stated that the sound was "mind-blowing."
The recent Canadian performances marked The Queen Extravaganza's first live shows since their public debut last month on American Idol, when the group performed with Queen's Roger Taylor and Brian May for an explosive rendition of "Somebody to Love." USA Today noted that lead singer Marc Martel's “ability to sound like Freddie Mercury remains staggering,” and the National Post imagined that “Freddie Mercury was giving them a thumbs up from the heavens as they hit every note bang on, just as he would have.” Examiner stated, “if you missed Queen during the 70's and 80's, be prepared to be impressed," and FOX News raved that“the new band not only has musical chops, but they actually physically resemble the members of the original Queen, circa 1975.” Billboard.com summed up the Queen Extravaganza by simply stating that they“sounded magnificent.”
Conceived and produced by Queen's Roger Taylor, whose idea was to create the ultimate Queen concert experience in an electrifying road show featuring some of today's best new music talent, The Queen Extravaganza touring band includes four vocalists and five musicians. Taylor led the judging of an intensive 11-week talent search in which singers Marc Martel and Jennifer Espinoza; bassist Francois Olivier Doyon; guitarists Brian Gresh and Tristan Avakian; and drummer Tyler Warren were selected as winners of the competition. Vocalists Yvan Pedneault and Jeff Scott Soto, and keyboardist/musical director Brandon Ethridge, joined the group earlier this year.

Jeff Soto Soto announces warm up dates for “Damage Control”/’Rock of Ages Festival’!
Given his extensive commitments to TSO and now the ‘Queen Extravaganza’ in the USA it is rare for Jeff Scott Soto to undertake any touring but following his successful appearance at ‘Bang Your Head’ in Balingen during Summer 2011 he was asked to appear at the ‘Rock Of Ages’ Festival on 28 July 2012 in Seebronn, Germany.
In order to do so he will be bringing his current line-up to undertake three gigs in Germany and Austria immediately ahead of the festival date.
Those dates are:
25 July – ‘Knust’ presented by ‘Headbangers Ballroom’ in Hamburg, Germany
26 July – ‘Mad Dog’ in Wuppertal, Germany
27 July – ‘Harly’s’ in Innsbruck, Austria
28 July – 'Rock Of Ages Festival' in Seebronn, Germany

“I can’t wait to perform at the Rock Of Ages Festival in Seebronn Germany in July, its gonna be great to reunite with the guys and bash it out again. JSS AND THE QUEEN EXTRAVAGANZA ON AMERICAN IDOL !
The Queen Extravaganza: A tribute show conceived by Taylor and cast via a reality show talent competition. The production, designed by Mark Fisher (Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, U2), kicks off its first 25-date North American run on May 26 in Quebec, and Taylor tells Billboard.com that May is helping to get the production into gear.
"It was sort of my project at the beginning, but he's very much behind it and he's now climbed on board," Taylor says. "So you have the entire clarity of what's left of Queen, which is two people." The duo plans to introduce the nine-member Extravaganza cast -- whose four vocalists include Journey, Yngwie Malmsteen and Trans-Siberian Orchestra alumnus Jeff Scott Soto -- on the April 25-26 episodes of "American Idol" before moving rehearsals from Los Angeles to Canada. "It's been a fascinating thing and a real stab in the dark, in a way," Taylor says of the two-hour show, which will feature 40 songs from Queen's catalog. "I'm trying to cram our entire career, in an encapsulated form, into one show -- that's why we have four lead singers, to cover that kind of breadth of material. There are a lot of other (tributes) going around representing our work; some of them are very good, but I wanted there to be a really great, first-class option. So we've formed our own sort of authorized band to play our canon...with all the things we can bring to bear -- the film clips nobody's ever seen and all the production tricks that we've accumulated over the years."
Taylor plans to be on the road with the Extravaganza "for the first period of touring, fine-tuning it for the first number of shows." But don't look for him to climb behind the drum kit at all. "I think that's not a good idea," he explains. "It corrupts the idea in a way. It'd feel like giving it an artificial push, which I don't think it'll need. I want it to stand on its own. I think we've got a great band that's more than capable of doing that."

To guarantee the touring show matches the fabled design and excitement of Queen at its live best, Taylor has enlisted a heavyweight production team headed by stage designer Mark Fisher. Fisher has been responsible for some of the most memorable rock concerts ever staged, including The Wall for Pink Floyd, every Rolling Stones show since 1989, and, working with lighting designer Willie Williams, every U2 concert.
The Queen Extravaganza touring band - four vocalists and five musicians (two guitars, bass, drums and keyboards) - were hired after an intensive 12 week online audition search. The buzz surrounding the public auditions sparked worldwide interest with video submissions generating more than 10 million views.Television host Ellen DeGeneres was so impressed with the level of talent, that she invited one hopeful to perform his audition on her show. That contestant, Nashville's Marc Martel, secured himself a place in the final band. In a show which will run just over two hours of playing time, with a 30 minute break, The QE band will perform close on 40 true Queen classics drawn from a list of the band’s biggest all-time chart hits – “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “Under Pressure,” “We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions,” “A Kind of Magic,” “Radio Ga Ga,” “Somebody to Love,” “Killer Queen” - as well as highlighting some of the band’s finest heavy-duty rock based anthems which have long been at the core of their live performances, so audiences can also expect a healthy dose of early period Queen with songs such as “I’m In Love With My Car,” “Tie Your Mother Down,” “Seven Seas of Rye,” and “In the Lap Of The Gods” among them.
Production values will be boosted with the inclusion of never-before-seen video footage.
“The Queen Extravaganza will not be like a traditional tribute show,” says Taylor. “It is a brand new show specially designed to enable these new fans, together with fans of old, to celebrate the music of Queen in a heart stopping event.” Adds Taylor, “It’s going to be very spectacular, it’s going to be very visual, there are going to be some shocks and some tremendous surprises. In a show which will run just over two hours of playing time, with a 30 minute break, The QE band will perform close on 40 true Queen classics drawn from a list of the band’s biggest all-time chart hits – “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “Under Pressure,” “We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions,” “A Kind of Magic,” “Radio Ga Ga,” “Somebody to Love,” “Killer Queen” - as well as highlighting some of the band’s finest heavy-duty rock based anthems which have long been at the core of their live performances, so audiences can also expect a healthy dose of early period Queen with songs such as “I’m In Love With My Car,” “Tie Your Mother Down,” “Seven Seas of Rye,” and “In the Lap Of The Gods” among them.
Production values will be boosted with the inclusion of never-before-seen video footage.
“The Queen Extravaganza will not be like a traditional tribute show,” says Taylor. “It is a brand new show specially designed to enable these new fans, together with fans of old, to celebrate the music of Queen in a heart stopping event.” Adds Taylor, “It’s going to be very spectacular, it’s going to be very visual, there are going to be some shocks and some tremendous surprises. It will be a rock celebration in the Royal tradition."

'DAMAGE CONTROL' ALBUM REVIEW

Well is been a long time coming but its finally here, the Jeff Scott Soto follow up to the 2009 album 'Beautiful Mess', and what a way to make a come back. This is Soto at his rockin’ best. Yes we love it when he sings those heart warming ballads, but he is at heart a rocker and this is right up there with his Soul SirkUS and Talisman material, as some of his finest material to date.
The album gets off to a fantastic start with ‘Give A Little More’. A great rocker that really sets the standard for the rest of the album that just goes up another level as each track unfolds.
The goodtime rock continues its impressive path with the mighty title track ‘Damage Control’, a groove filled rock monster swoops and sways between hard edged guitars and Soto’s rich vocals on the chorus, then swoops down to a more melodic pace. Then as the chorus comes back in, it's back up to its full rocking pace.
The up-tempo rockers just keep on coming with the excellent ‘Look Inside Your Heart’, featuring some truly great guitar work on this one, as well as Soto’s phenomenal vocal presence. Definitely one of my favourites off the album.
Soto has always been a darling of the Melodic Rock fans and one track that will surely become a fast favourite is ‘Die A Little'. It's a mid tempoed slice of pure melody rich gold. Also ‘If I Never Let Her Go’, another song consisting of pure Melodic Rock at its very best.
But if you like me like to get your rocks off, then hang on to your hats as things pick up once more with the excellent ‘Tears That I Cry’. As the album reaches its mid way point, its time for only ballad on the album ‘BonaFide’. Although I prefer a little rock, you can't fault the emotion Soto’s manages to put into his ballads and this ranks as one of his finest.
After the short ballad interlude it's time to rock things up again and what a head-rush ‘Krazy World’ is. It's another favourite of mine. It's funky, it's rocky, it's just superb! The up-tempo rock continues right to the end, from here on in with ‘How To Love Again’ and the superb funky groove filled rocker ‘AfterWorld’.
This album closes in fine style with ‘NeverEnding War’, a track that has a little Bon Jovi gentle steel guitar start, but then soon builds into great finale to one of Jeff Scott Soto best albums to date, and for an artist with such a pedigree behind him, this is some feat. Also if you can spare a few pennies more when the album comes out, invest in the extended deluxe edition as you get three bonus tracks and a DVD - 'Look Inside Your Heart' (videoclip), 'NeverEnding War' (videoclip), 'Damage Control' (videoclip), EPK interview. Definitely more bang for your buck!!!

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of JEFF SCOTT SOTO’s fifth studio album “Damage Control” on March 23rd in Europe and March 27th in North America.
Extraordinary performer and amazing vocalist throughout, Jeff Scott Soto blasts through these hard rocking tracks with energy and masters the transition smoothly from heavy rock to a delicate ballad. For his new album “Damage Control”, Jeff has turned to many of his past influences and most requested aspects of his career by blending the art of Melodic Rock with Hard Rock throughout.
“I feel Damage Control is more of a return to what my fans would expect to hear from me. It’s a perfect blend of my first two solo albums with Frontiers Records; Prism and Lost in the Translation, but also mixes in some of my favorite moments of my past bands such as Talisman and Soul SirkUS” tells Jeff. “It is heavy, AOR, hard rock with loads of great riffs and melodies”
“Damage Control” was recorded in the fall of 2011 and is completed with appearances and co-writing along with his former and current band mates together with many guests including Jamie Borger and Nalley Påhlsson (Treat), Casey Grillo (Kamelot), Joel Hoekstra (Night Ranger) and legendary Y&T founding member Dave Meniketti. Jeff recalls: “Y&T drummer Mike Vanderhule played drums on a track and suggested I bring Dave on but, as he is a long time friend and one on the ‘wish list’ of people I would have loved to have, I didn’t want to get an excuse that he was too busy or not interested, to my surprise I got neither... he was willing to do it and I was not only grateful but beyond pleased to work with another musical hero!”
The album will be released in two exclusive configurations; the basic version in CD jewel box will include 11 songs, while the deluxe edition in digipak format has an additional 3 bonus tracks and a DVD. Full tracklisting is below:
