I live
and work in the South West of England with Sue, my
wife of more than 20 years. I have a day job in IT
as a Project Manager, but I also run a part time
photography business. My journalistic modern style
of photography lends itself well to a wide variety
of themes in social photography, from weddings (1
do around 10-12 of these a year) to portraits and
of course concert photography.
As a long time fan of rock music and a veteran of
many hundreds of concerts I like good music and
appreciate the importance of good visuals. I can be
inspired by a good concert image almost as much as
listening to the music.
My
thoughts on Jeff Scott Soto...
As well as being a consummate performer and a very
talented vocalist, Jeff Scott Soto is both a
delight and a challenge to photograph.
He's a delight, because he is so expressive both
facially and in his movement on stage. This makes
for interesting photos and the potential for
stunningly artistic concert images. Jeff is also
very inclusive of other band members, involving
them in his antics and adding humour and action to
the whole stage experience.
Jeff is also a challenge, because he moves so much
and so fast, resulting in many blurred photos and
missed opportunities. As a photographer this is
great, because it keeps me on my toes and makes the
concert shoot interesting and inspiring.
